We Won!

A few months after moving in to "Playboy's place", which was only a few blocks from my current residence, I heard of a fund raising raffle to benefit Habitat for Humanity. The grand prize was a $5000 room makeover including furniture, building supplies, and an interior designer. I was so excited about the contest, I called Peter to discuss how many tickets we should buy- $100?,$150? It was basically and investment! Of course Peter said we should buy 2- 2 tickets and I thought that was just silly. So, the day of the drawing, I purchased 6 tickets for $30 and I won!

I recruited my girlfriend Heather and we attacked the white walls in the living room with a vengeance.

We did not realize what a process the Venetian plaster would be at the time. The lath and plaster walls had to be sanded smooth before the colored plaster could be applied, then in order to get that deep "texturized" look, the plaster had to be polished with steele wool. Needless to say- there was a ton of dust! The job was eventually completed but not by my Christmas deadline, but it still looked nice.
