Nachos!

Our Easter started with an impromptu Egg decorating party on the porch.Then the Easter bunny picked them up and hid them in our neighborhood park where the kids hunted for their bounty. Then the token Easter babies had a great time observing and making a plan for next year.

We had a wonderful trip to Fernie, BC. The kids were so wonderful on the 7+ hr car ride. We stopped at Swan lake to throw rocks on the frozen water and to take a stretch in the beautiful sunshine.

Our good friend, Adam, joined us on our getaway. Would love to show you pictures of the most beautiful scenery, but the views were hard to catch behind the rain clouds.  We still had a great trip.

We did it! Audrey cut her hair and she loves it! We donated that HUGE ponytail to locks for love. She looks sooo grown up!

Bacchus Pub Grub

 This was our Christmas. What a wonderful day! I was very nervous to leave the house as it was FREEZING outside. But, Peter loaded us all up and drove us to Hylight Canyon. Our good friends, Nick and Shannon had rented the Maxi cabin and we skied in. What a gorgeous day. The sun was bright, the temperature was comfortable, the scenery was magical and spending the day with friends was special.

Vegetable Lasagna, White bean and olive salad

During Faster Kinna and Gene's visit in the spring, we took a dip in Chico Hot Springs and then visited the horses on site. Audrey fed them carrots and we promised her that one day she could ride one.

 

When Kinna returned in the Fall, she was excited to keep her promise. We went to Jakes Horses in Big Sky. Audrey was not sure she wanted to actually get on a horse but she warmed up to the idea the longer we stayed. Jake put a kid's saddle on Trigger and after some time, Audrey gained the confidence to get up in the saddle and go for it. Who could say no to a horse ride on a beautiful day in Big Sky?!

Audrey loves her little brother. She is a great helper, as you can see her feeding baby "bro bro". What I have learned as a parent is that there is always a precious moment that erases all of the previous chaos. The moments where you see an angel baby where there had just been a sugar crazed maniac. You know what they say, never wake a sleeping baby or babies!
At the end of the day lets enjoy cake- or should I say, Diaper Cake. I have heard of them but did not imagine they were this cute. My friend Magumi made this one for Gavin. It is almost too cute to open.
